From 14 to 16 November 2025, the professed sisters of the European Region met for a weekend in Ramgnies-Chin for the last time.

As we set out together on this year of transition, we used the biblical account of Abraham and Sarah’s journey to help us to reflect together on our own journeys, be them on a personal level, as a community and as a Region.

As we listened to God’s invitation to Abraham to leave and ‘go forth to become a blessing’ (Genesis 12), we looked at what we are unable to leave behind, what makes the road difficult for us.
Contemplating the visitors to the oak tree of Mamre (Genesis 18), we remembered significant or impossible encounters.

We also sought to examine the darkness we carry within us and to which we may be complicit, sometimes in spite of ourselves. What desires for power and control may inhabit us, sometimes in the name of faith? The sacrifice of Isaac (Genesis 22) was an example of this attitude, as well as the image of a God who says to us, ‘Enough!’ “

Together we gave thanks for the life that God gives to each of us: unexpected, unhoped for, unanticipated. What is God’s promise for us today? “This earth on which we stand and where we grow?” Finally, against the backdrop of Genesis 15 and 17, a starry sky was created by sharing the insights received during these two days with one another.
